Gerald Allen Bathon

	Gerald Allen Bathon, 37, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at his residence.
	Gerald was a correctional officer at the Pinckneyville Correctional Center and had worked at Menard Correctional Center.  He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and golfing.  He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill.  He was a member of the Pinckneyville Knights of Columbus and a member of the correctional officers union.  He was born October 16, 1962 at Pinckneyville, the son of Lawrence F. and Sarah E. (Harris) Bathon.
	He is survived by his parents, Lawrence F. and Sarah E. Bathon of Pinckneyville; sisters and brothers, Sister Julie Marie (Mary) Bathon OSF of Bird Island, Minnesota, William G. Bathon and wife Marsha Ann of Pinckneyville, Richard E. Bathon and wife Judy of Tamaroa, Leonard C. Bathon and wife LaVeda of Nashville, Lawrence D. Bathon and wife Lisa of Georgetown, KY, Donna  M. Mikesell and friend Rick Hicks of Nashville, John F. Bathon of Nashville and Janice E. Rust and husband Mike of Coulterville; special friend, Myra Rubach and family- Keith, Trisha, Andrew and Brooke Rubach, all of Chester; four nieces, 10 nephews and two great-nephews.
	Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29 at th eSt. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill with Fr. James Van Oss officiating.
	Friends were able to call from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.  The Rosary was said at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
	Interment was in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill.
	Friends may make memorials to Masses or the Perry County Counseling Center.
